1. What excites you about Oulipost?
Creating poems from a newspaper. I rarely read newspapers.
2. What, if anything, scares you about Oulipost?
Well, creating poems from a newspaper! Like I said, I rarely read newspapers. :-)
3. Have you written experimental or found poetry before? If so, tell us about it.
In April 2013, I was one of 85 poets who participated in the Pulitzer Remix. I created thirty found poems from the text of the very first novel to win a Pulitzer, "His Family". One of my favourite found poems from that process was the tribute poem I created on April 4, the death anniversary of Kurt Cobain. If anyone would like to read the thirty poems I created, do let me know and I will make them available to you.
4. What newspaper will serve as your source text?
The Daily Nation.
5. Who's your spirit Oulipian?
Michele Audin. Female mathematician. And Rebel, according to this entry from Wikipedia: "On January 1, 2009, she refused to receive the Legion of Honour, on the grounds that the President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, had refused to respond to a letter written by her mother regarding the disappearance of her father."

A big thank you to David Citino and his amazing, inspirational book "Paperwork", for reminding me that poems - and poets - are worth something.
Many thanks to my namesake "Mimi" Mik for taking the time to read my crazy poems, and for giving me her invaluable feedback. You rock!
Asante sana to Murfy's Flaw for being one of the coolest and 'down-to-earthest' Kenyan rock bands! And for allowing their awesome song "In Silence" to be part of the soundtrack of this book of poems.
I salute the prolific poet Phatalvision for reading ALL my poems! By the way sir, "old school" is "gold 'n' cool" :-)
I am very thankful to my mum, dad and sister, for putting up with me all these years. I love you!
